Abstract

First a brief summary is given of present-day knowledge concerning the shell-boring habits of modern gastropods. Then a new, usually insttructive case of shell-boring is described from Upper Cincinnatian (Richmond) beds. Reasons are given for suspecting the boring to have been done by a species of the genus Holopea.
