Abstract

Ichnotaxonomic and paleoecological studies on Jurassic samples resulted in the identification of four microboring assemblages, called index ichnocoenoses. They are related to specific photic zones or subzones, and therefore are extraordinarily useful for bathymetric reconstruction.
